PB Supercar Hire’s Audi R8 hire car is a direct result of Audi’s dominance at Le Man with many of the features developed by the racing team now employed in this fabulous road car. The spyder version of the Audi R8 rental car we own is a magnificent experience, just pop down the top and listen the wonderful V10 engine behind you while feeling at one with your surroundings. The Audi R8 hire car we have is a mid-engine, 2-seater supercar, which uses Audi’s trademark Quattro permanent all-wheel drive system. This supercar really does stimulate your senses and is proving to be a true modern classic supercar that we have for hire. The first R8 was a concept car in 2003 named the “Audi Le Mans Quattro” which shared a lot with the Audi TT chassis and bodywork, but with the Gallardo V10 engine. This car was developed into the full fat Audi R8 rental car we recognise today and was based on the Le Mans 24 Hour race winning car. There have been over 19 variations of the Audi R8 for sale since 2006, all coming with either manual, 6 speed R-Tronic or 7 speed S Tronic gearboxes, the latter being the semi automatic paddle shift style. The first car produced was the Audi R8 V8 Coupe which had a V8 4.2 litre engine in it, which is the same engine as used in the Audi B7 RS4, but is modified to use a dry sump lubrication system. A cabriolet or spyder version as it’s known was later released in 2011. The 5.2 litre Audi R8 V10 was released in 2009 which shared the Gallardo engine and breaking system, the spyder version was released in 2010. The R8 was the first car in the world to debut the LED light system. These 2 engines form the basis of the range with each one having different variations such as the Audi R8 GT and R8 Limited Edition. There is also the Audi R8 E-Tron range which is an all electric model, however only 99 of them were made and cost over £1 million. The Audi R8 also comes in 2 race forms, the R8 LMS GT3 and the R8 LMS Ultra.
PBSH commenced it journey almost by accident- Peter Browning had loved and cherished his Ferrari 360 Modena Coupe since he bought it in 2004 from Ferrari HR Owen in London. The following 2 years saw a strong demand from his friends and family to borrow the car at weekends usually offering to pay, or offer him a weekend in their villa, or to a free meal if he was not using the Ferrari himself, of course he was, but he soon picked up on the point that people were willing to pay to hire supercars and that there was a steady demand with no one satisfying this demand in London and the UK. Over the following few months he spent his spare time setting up the website, organising the all important correct self drive hire, securing premises originally in Canada Water, East London SE16 2XB, before moving to the current larger premises at 571 Cable Street, London, E1W 3EP, and most importantly, buying another 2 cars to add to the Ferrari 360 Modena he already owned- A Lamborghini Gallardo Coupe and Aston Martin DB9 Coupe, making a starting super car hire fleet of 3. Over the subsequent years this has fluctuated between 12-29 supercars with PBSH having hired to over 5500 satisfied customers. At PBSH, if you want to hire a supercar for a day or any period for that matter and it’s available you simply pay for that period, if it’s not available then you are not left with a sour taste in your mouth that you had paid a massive annual fee but could not get the supercar you wanted. This type of pay as you go formula around London and the UK also prevents the over complicated points system and other pitfalls of the annual membership. Peter’s theory proved right.
